Iceberg salad with ginger dressing To prepare dressing:
Combine the first 12 ingredients in a blender, and process until smooth.
To prepare salad:
Combine lettuce and remaining ingredients in a medium bowl. Drizzle
dressing over salad; toss gently to coat.

Meanwhile, peel and mince garlic and place in a small jar. Wash and
dry the parsley, cut the stems off, then mince the parsley. Place in

Combine mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar; mix until smooth.

Stir in barley; return to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer

Valentine's day potato salad Combine all ingredients, folding together gently.
Serve chilled. Cuban black bean and rice salad In a large mixing bowl, combine the beans, rice, scallions, tomatoes,
cucumber, and, if desired, jalapeno. Blend in the oil, lime juice,
cilantro, and seasonings. Chill for 1 hour before serving.
TIP: For a slight twist, add 2 roasted, seeded, and c Greek style chicken salad Combine pasta, chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, cheese, and olives. Mix together the remaining ingredients for the dressing. Pour the dressing over the pasta mixture and lightly toss until coated with dressing. Chill until ready to serve.

stirring occasionally, until tender, 20 to 30 minutes. Add beef broth,
water, bay leaf, pepper, and thyme. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover

NOTES:
* A cold pasta dish -- This salad is quick and easy. It's best if made
several hours Ethiopian beef and peppers Puree chilies, ginger, garlic, spices, and wine to a smooth paste. Brown beef in hot oil. When evenly browned, remove and drain off all but 2T oil. Saute onion in the oil until soft but not browned. Add the bell peppers and saute for an additional 3 mins. Lemon fish salad 1. Rinse and pat dry fish fillet.
2. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
3. Place fish in an oven safe dish. In a small bowl mix together wine, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice; pour over fish.

4. Spread peppers and onion in pan and use a pinch of salt and pepper to flavor.
5. Roast 5 minutes.
6. Cut potatoes into thin slices and toss East-west asparagus salad Cut or break off the tough bottoms of the spears. Cut spears into
2-inch pieces. Drop into a pot of boiling water and simmer 2 minutes,
or just until tender. DO NOT OVERCOOK. Drain and rinse immediately
