Ingredients: 1 Package(s) medium/hot taco seasoning mix 1 Ounce(s) 8 oz. tomato sauce 1 Ounce(s) 4 oz. (diced) green chili 1 Pound(s) ground beef 1 chopped white onion 1 1 lb. (whole) tomato 3/4 Pound(s) can use Mexican Cheese Blend cheddar cheese 1 corn or flour, preferably corn tortilla |
Directions: Brown hamburger and onion. Drain fat. Add all other ingredients except cheese
&
tortillas. Sim
mer for 15 minutes. In large pan (13X9) cover bottom with sauce. Then layer tortillas, sauce,
&
cheese. End with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (or microwave for 10 minutes).
NOTE: 1) The intensity of the spices will depend on the type of chilies and taco seasoning mix you use.
2) You can use either corn or flour tortillas. Corn is sturdier and provides more flavors to the overall casserole. Flour tortillas become very mushy, but don't add the corn flavor to the total casserole.
Serves approximately 6.
Top with lettuce, salsa, and sour cream.
