Steaks with red wine mushrooms



Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon(s) oil
4 sirloin or fillet steaks
1/16 Cup(s) butter
4 Cup(s) green onions; chopped
2 garlic; crushed
4 Ounce(s) shittake mushrooms
4 Ounce(s) small field mushrooms
1 Cup(s) beef stock
1 Cup(s) red wine
1 Tablespoon(s) thyme
1 cracked black pepper
1 mashed potatoes to serve
Directions: Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the steaks for 3 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking. While the steaks are cooking, heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the mushrooms and toss for 1 minutes. Add the stock, wine and thyme and pepper and allow to simmer until the mushrooms are soft and the sauce is reduced by half. To serve, place the mashed potatoes on warmed plates.
