Skillet Golden Corn Bread



Ingredients:
1 Cup(s) Yellow cornmeal
3/4 Cup(s) Boiling water
1 Tablespoon(s) Shortening; melted
1 Teaspoon(s) Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon(s) Salt
2 Tablespoon(s) Light corn syrup
1 Tablespoon(s) Flour
1 Teaspoon(s) Baking powder
2 Tablespoon(s) Milk
1 Egg; beaten lightly
Directions: Pour cornmeal into boiling water; add shortening, sugar and salt. Mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients; combine well. Spread in greased 8 inch skillet; cover; cook over low heat for 12 minutes. Serves 6-8.
