Rosy Beet and Potato Salad with Garlic Dressing

Ingredients: 4 medium Beets with greens 2 large Potatoes 4 Garlic cloves 3 Tablespoon(s) Oil 1 Lemon; juiced |
Directions: Remove greens from beets. Cut greens into 1-inch-thick slices and
boil until wilted and tender. Drain thoroughly and set aside.
Boil beets until completely tender. Drain, then cover in cold water to
cool. When cooled, slip off roots and skins.
Meanwhile, boil potatoes in their skins until tender. Drain, cool
thoroughly, then remove skins.
Cut peeled beets and potatoes into bite sized chunks and place in
mixing bowl with cooled greens.
Mince or press garlic, then combine with oil and lemon juice. Season
dressing with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, then toss
with beets and potatoes. Serve chilled with crusty bread.

Cool salad Combine cooled 7 Bean & Barley with remaining ingredients in a large salad
bowl and toss lightly. Serve Cold.
*NOTE: The recipe (as published) seems to be missing the unit of measure
for the AM Sesame Oil. I would guess that it should be Chicken salad supreme Drain Mandarin Orange segments. In large bowl, combine mayonnaise, lime
juice, salt, and nutmeg. Add remaining ingredients; miz well. Chill. Serve
on Lettuce leaves. Refrigerate leftovers.
Indonesian chicken salad Roast the peppers by broiling or grilling it until it's black all over. Or
stick it on a long-handled fork and blacken it over a gas flame. Peel, seed
and dice (you'll need 1/4 cup). Cook the rice according to the package

carefully after the water returns to a boil for six minutes. Potatoes

bowl. Pour dressing and lime juice over rice mixture;
toss. Serve on lettuce leaves.
N Greek style salad Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Toss with vinaigrette.
Garlic straws Preheat oven to 425F degrees. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured board into a
rectangle, as thinly as possible. Stir the garlic juice into most of the milk and brush
the pastry with half of it.
Mix the paprika and Parmesan, and season with a li Wild rice and chicken salad with tarragon Combine broth and wild rice in small saucepan. Bring to boil. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 50 minutes. Transfer to medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled.

Broccoli salad 1 Combine the broccoli, tomato, bacon, green onions, and mozarella
a large bowl.
In a separate bowl mix together the sugar, mayonnaise, and vinegar. Pour
over broccoli mixture and stir well to combine. Chill until ready to
serve.
Strawberry-orange salad Stir 1 tsp. strawberry and 1 tsp. orange gelatin (dry_ into yogurt;;
refrigerate.
Pour boiling water on remaining strawberry and orange gelatin in bowl;
stir until gelatin is dissolved.
Stir in strawberries; break apart with fork.
Stir in grape j Main dish potato salad Combine the cottage cheese, sour cream, mustard, sugar, salt and pepper,
and parsley in a salad bowl. Add the potatoes, ham, green onions, celery
and eggs. Toss to mix well. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or
until well chilled.
T Rotkrautsalat (red cabbage salad) Fry bacon in medium-size fry pan until crisp. Remove and reserve bacon.
Add sugar, vinegar, and wine to bacon fat; stir and cook until sugar is
dissolved. Pour this hot mixture over the cabbage. Toss with vegetable
oil, salt, pepper, and caraway seeds. Tomato french dressing Combine all ingredients in a blender. Puree until smooth. Refrigerate for up to a month. Coconut cream dressing In small bowl, combine all ingredients, mix well. Chill before serving.
Refrigerate leftovers.
Makes about 1/2 cup Dressing
Shrimp and grapefruit salad with hearts of palm and curry oi Curry oil:
Combine oil and curry powder in a small saucepan or skillet. Cook over low
heat for 1 hour. Strain through a coffee filter and let cool. With a
sharp knife, cut peel from grapefruit, including all white pith, and cut
sections free from membr Katchhi village potato curry Heat the oil or ghee in a wok or karhai or wide pot over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon garlic and cook for a minute, then add the potatoes and shallots. Stir-fry for several minutes, until the shallots have softened, pressing the potato cubes against the Three pepper salad Completely dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in cold water and
lemon juice. Chill until slightly thickened.
Stir in peppers and green onions. Pour into 5-cup mold which has been
lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Chill Hot spinach & mushroom salad Wash fresh spinach and remove all tough stems; drain well. In hot oil,
saute mushrooms and onions until onions are wilted. Add lemon juice,
vinegar, sugar and pepper; mix well. Stir in spinach and cook only
until spinach begins to wilt. Remove fr Garlic mashed potatoes Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place garlic cloves in a dish. Drizzle with oil, cover, and bake for 45 minutes. Boil potatoes. Drain. Place garlic, milk, cheese, and butter in bowl with potatoes - mash. Season with salt and pepper.
Calico salad Wash and drain kidney, green, and wax beans. Add chopped pepper and onion.
Mix sugar, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Pour over salad. Chill.

Golden kringel beet & potato salad In boiling water, cook the carrots for 3 to 5 minutes until tender. Drain
and set aside. Boil the beets for 8 to 12 minutes until tender. Drain,
peel, chop into small cubes and set aside. Boil potatoes in their jackets
until tender but slightly Chopped salad with fresh corn Blanch green beans in boiling water for 30 seconds. Drain well and place in
large bowl. Toss with cucumber, tomatoes, capers, sweet red pepper, corn,
dressing, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate one hour.
Adjust seasonings.
Potato crepes with scallops, salmon and asparagus Starting at the tip end, cut the asparagus into 1 1/2-inch lengths
with a diagonal rolling cut: slice off the tip at an angle, roll the
asparagus about a quarter turn and cut again, and repeat on down the
stalk until you reach the tougher base Lettuce and fruit salad with poppy seed dressing Combine mandarin oranges, grapefruit sections, and lettuce in a large salad
bowl; toss lightly. Serve with Poppy Seed Dressing.
Poppy Seed Dressing: Combine first 7 ingredients in container of electric
blender; blend well. Slowly add 3/4 cup v Layered cobb salad Make dressing:
Whisk together all dressing ingredients except oil in a bowl, then add oil
in a slow stream, whisking until emulsified.
Make salad:
Bring 5 cups water to a simmer in a 2-quart saucepan, then simmer chicken,
uncovered, 6 minutes. Remove pan Wild and brown rice salad with roasted brazil nuts Toast the nuts in the oven at 190c. for 10 minutes, or alternatively in the microwave on "high" until golden. Allow the nuts to cool then chop roughly, keeping a few large pieces to garnish.
Bring a large pot of water to the boil and salt genero Lentil salad with smoked turkey Put lentils and chicken stock in a medium saucepan over medium-high
heat; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cook at a slow boil until
the lentils are softened but still firm to the bite, 15 to 20
minutes. Drain the lentils, transfer to a large bowl, Ambrosia salad Drain fruits well. Combine all ingredients except lettuce and salad
dressing, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Chill well. Serve in lettuce
cups with salad dressing, if desired.

minutes, or until tender. Cool, cover and chill overnight.
2. In a large bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, salt, pepper, paprika,
celery seed and green onions.

* This is a quick and painless way to make garlic bre Abidjan cabbage salad Place cabbage, carrots & pineapple into a large bowl. Mix the dressing by
whisking all the ingredients together till creamy or by drizzling the oil
into the juices while in a blender. Thoroughly blend the dressing & the
vegetables. Refrige Broiled potato skins Prick Potatoes with fork to allow steam to escape. Bake potatoes in 425F oven until tender, about 1 hour. Cool slightly. Cut each potatoe lengthwise into halves, scoop out insides, leaving a 3/8 inch shell. Spread inside of shells with margarine or butt Bardy's cheesy garlic bread Preheat oven to 350. Cut bread into twelve slices. Combine 1/2 cup butter
with garlic. Spread on one side of bread slices. Puree remaining
ingredients in food processor till smooth. Spread mixture on buttered side
of bread. Place on greased cooky Caribbean beef salad (creamy chutney dressing) To make the dressing, combine the yogurt, sour cream, chutney, vinegar,
lemon juice, allspice, and pepper in a medium bowl.
Trim the fat from the roast beef. Stack the beef slices and cut lengthwise

occasionally.
Heat the oil in a skillet. Add the garlic and saute over medium-low heat
until richly colored but not burned, about 5 minutes. Stir in the parley,
salt, and pepper to Sesame dressing Combine sugar, paprika, mustard and salt. Stir in jelly, lemon juice
and vinegar. Gradually beat in oil. Add sesame seeds, stir well and
