Granma's fruit cookies Cream sugar and shortening. Add Sorghum and eggs. Sift dry ingredients
together and add. Add raisin-date, nutsand coconut last. Roll and cut with
a cooky cutter. Bake in 375 oven for 12 - 15 minutes - depending on
thickness of cookies, of course. Whisky punch Peel the lemons finely and squeeze out the juice, then add peel and juice to the sugar in a large jug or bowl. Pour the boiling water over the lemons and sugar and leave until cold.
Strain into a large bowl and add the bottle of Scotch whisky, stirring we Make-ahead lemonade base and fruit variations For sugar syrup, in a medium saucepan heat and stir water and sugar
over medium heat till sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool
about 20 minutes.
Add lemon peel and lemon juice to the sugar syrup. Pour into a

slightly thickened. Stir in fruit. Pour into individual dishes or medium
serving bowl. Chill until firm, about 1 hour. Garnish if desired. Makes 3

White wine fruit salad In a shallow serving bowl, dissolve sugar in a mixture of wine, lemon rind, and lemon juice, stirring constantly. Gently add fruit. Chill two hours, tossing occasionally. Drain and serve on a bed of lettuce.

Russian fruit salad This fresh fruit medley is gleefully marinated in a blend of maple syrup, lemon and vodka.
1. Combine cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, nectarines, black- or blueberries, watermelon and cherries in a large bowl; sprinkle salad with lemon juice and toss Winter fruit compote #2 Bring apple juice, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom pods, apple cubes, pear cubes, fig pieces and currants to boil in saucepan.
