Ingredients: 2 pizza seasonings 4 Ounce(s) basil leaves 2 Ounce(s) oregano 2 Pound(s) minced garlic 33/844 Quart(s) divided olive oil 1 1/2 canned crushed tomato 4 Ounce(s) fresh mozzarella slices 1 pizza dough 1 Ounce(s) salt |
Directions: Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Spread homemade or packaged pizza dough (Pillsbury canned dough works great) out on pizza stone or sheet. Combine one clove garlic and 1.5 T olive oil (use more oil if needed). Brush over the crust. In a small bowl, combine crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pizza seasonings, 1 clove crushed garlic, and 1 T olive oil. Taste your pizza sauce before spreading and season accordingly, adding more to desired taste. Spread the sauce on dough. Top with slices of fresh mozzarella (it must be fresh, not the pre-shredded, bagged variety). Spread several whole basil leaves around the top of the pizza. Bake at 500 degrees for 15-18 minutes, or until cheese is completely melted and bubbly, and the crust is beginning to brown.
