Directions: Wash and pick over lentils. Place in a large saucepan with rice and
carrots. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and
cook until rice is done, 20 to 30 minutes.

Chicken avacado rice salad Refrigerate cooked rice until cold. Peel the avacado and slice lengthwise
into 1/2 inch-thick strips. Coat with lemon juice, and refrigerate until
well chilled. In a large mixing bowl, combine the scallions, olives,

Sautee onions and garlic in water till starting to turn yellow, add all other ingredients in a large pot with 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to a boil. In a large skillet, saute chili, turmeric and asafetida in oil for 2

Rice summer salad Recipe by: McDougall Plan Mix vinegar, mustard, and tarragon. Pour over the
cooked rice. Mix well. If rice is warm, let cool to room temperature before
adding remaining ingredients. When rice is cool, add remaining ingredients.
Toss gently. Cov Baked chile rice Heat oven to 350F degrees. Mix rice, sour cream, cheeses, chile powder, and chile in an
ungreased 2-quart casserole. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Baked wild rice Cook the rice in boiling salted water for about 35 minutes or according to
package directions. Drain thoroughly and rinse with cold water. Drain
again.
Meanwhile, cut the stalks off the broccoli and cook them in boiling salted
water for 8-10 min Lentil enchiladas Put water and beans in saucepan on med high heat. Add all ingredients
except salsa and tortillas. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionlly. Reduce
