OR 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1. Heat vegetable or peanut oil in heavy bottomed saucepan or soup pot and
add onion, garlic and spices Fresno smoked sausage and lentil gumbo In a 5 to 7 quart pan, over medium heat, cook sausage, stirring, until
brow. Spoon from pan; reserve. Add oi to drippings in pan to make 1/3 cup
fat. Add flour; stir until mixture is red brown, abouth 10 minutes.

for approximately 20 minutes until soft, but not
mushy. Drain water. Combine seasonings, saltine
crackers, tomato sauce, green bell pepper and egg

least 1 hour to blend the flavors. Spread on English Muffin halves and
broil until hot and cheese is melted. Serve hot.
Company cheese spread If using a food processor, cut low-fat cheddar cheese into cubes. Process
until finely chopped. Add ricotta cheese, process about 10 seconds. Add
remaining ingredients, except milk, and process until all ingredients are
finely chopped. Add mil Barbecue spread Mix dressing and barbecue sauce. Refrigerate.
Makes 1 1/2 cups.
Indian chili Wash, scrub, and prick potatoes. Bake until done, 1 to 1-1/2 hrs in regular or 10-15 min. in microwave. Heat a couple Tbs. of the water in a saucepan, add the onions, and cook gently for 5 min., stirring frequently. Add the garlic, turmeric, cumin seeds, Ab fab artichoke dip/sandwich filling Marinate artichoke hearts with italian herbs and some balsamic vinegar. I
myself add a teaspoon or so of olive oil (someone will be coming to measure
me now, I'm sure).
Stir artichoke hearts and rest of ingredients together. DON'T put in Lentil-rice roast with cashew gravy Pick over the lentils, then combine in a saucepan with the millet, rice,
and water. Bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer until cooked, about
1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil two 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch loaf
pans.
Lobster club sandwich Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spread butter inside each pocket and place
pitas on cookie sheet. Heat in oven for 3-4 minutes. Open pockets, being
careful not to split sides. Place 2 ounces of lobster meat into each
pocket, followed by 2 slices of Cold lentil salad Cook lentils in water for 30 to 45 minutes (no salt) Drain. Blend in
other things except for tomatoes, parsley and green onions. Chill. Add
rest of the stuff. Serve cold with or without har.boi.eggs. Yummy!!!

heat, cover and simmer 45 min to 1 hour, until berries are tender, but
still chewy (not mushy).
Sort lentils, removing any deformed ones and any stones that may be mixed
Indian lentil sandwich spread, mcdougall Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook gently over low heat, stirring occasionally, fir 5 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Chill for one hour.
Whole foccacia sandwich In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in the warm water. Sprinkle the yeast over that mixture and let stand for 10 minutes, to bloom (it should begin to foam.)
