Directions: Heat the oil in a small skillet over high heat. Add the shallot, garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until soft, 1-2 min. Turn the heat to low, add sake/wine, stir and cook for 1 min.
Add the soy sauce, hone and vinegar/lemon juice. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and simmer until the sauce is thick, 8-10 minutes. Strain and discard the solids; cool.
Store in a squeeze bottle or covered container. The sauce will keep for 1-2 weeks at room temp or for up to 1 month refrigerated.
