Directions: 1. Sift flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and cocoa together twice into medium bowl. Set aside.
2. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar, vanilla, and salt until foamy.
3. Gradually beat in 1 cup of sugar until stiff peaks form.
4. Sift 1/4 flour mixture over egg white mixture.
5. Fold in gently just until flour mixture disappears.
6. Repeat 3 more times.
7. Pour into ungreased 10 in. tube pan.
8. Run knife through batter to remove any air pockets.
9. Bake in 350 degree oven for 50 minutes until cake springs back when gently touched.
10. Invert pan onto counter to cool.

Lightly spoon the flour into dry measuring cups, and level with a knife.
Combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl, and cut in
margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until the mixture resembles
