Ingredients:
1 Pound(s) great northern beans; soaked overnight
2 Cup(s) onion; chopped
2 Cup(s) ham; cut up
1 salt and pepper; to taste
Directions: Put the beans, onions, and ham pieces in a large pot. Pour in enough cold water to cover the beans by 1 1/2 inches. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduc e the heat to a simmer, removing any scum that rises to the surface. Simmer about 2 hours, or until the beans are tender. Add water, if needed. Season with salt and pepper.
