Directions: Lightly bruise mint with ginger syrup in a tall glass. Fill with ice, add gin, lime juice and top with ginger ale.
* For the ginger syrup, make a simple syrup (combine the 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water and ginger and simmer until sugar has dissolved or 'desired' ginger taste has been achieved) but add sliced or shredded fresh ginger with the sugar and simmer; the longer it simmers, the more peppery the results.

For beef, lamb, and pork.
Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
Makes about 1-1/4 cups.
Butter ginger sauce for pasta Melt butter in a medium skillet. Add everything except cheese and
cook until garlic is tender, about 4 minutes. Combine hot pasta, toss
with cheese and serve. Makes 4 servings. Pasta suggestions: 3/4 lb
Capellini, spaghettini or linguine.

for the marinade. Partially freeze steak to firm, slice diagonally across
grain into 1/8-inch thick strips. Place beef strips in a plastic bag or in
a shallow, non-metal pan Ginger shrimp kas Peel shrimp. Make a shallow cut lengthwise down back of each shrimp; wash
out vein.
Mix ginger root, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper, and garlic

Ginger baked pears Preheat oven to 375F degrees. Lightly butter a large shallow baking dish.
Peel the pears, cut in half lengthways and remove cores. Arrange, cut
sides down, in a single layer in baking dish.
Mix together the cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, Ginger beef stroganoff Combine soy sauce, sherry, ginger, sugar and garlic; mix well. Pour
over sirloin chunks and marinate at least 4 hours. Drain beef and
reserve marinade. Saute onions and mushrooms in butter; remove
from pan (reserving liquid); set aside. In same pa Sweet potato, ginger and tomato soup Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onions, sweet potato and ginger root.
Cover the pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the vegetables are soft.
Add the tomatoes and vegetable stock. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30-40
minutes.
Puree using hand blend Fruit cocktail cake Mixall ingredients in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix by hand. Bake at 350 degrees
F. for about 40 minutes.
Whole fried fish with ginger and chilli In a wok, deep fry fish in very hot oil until crispy and brown on both sides being careful not to break the tail. Drain and serve on a large platter topped with sauce. Scatter sliced spring onions and torn herbs over the fish.
Sauce:
Heat oil in wok and f Asparagus with ginger-orange butter 1 Grate 2 tsp orange zest (colored part of peel); place in small bowl.
Squeeze juice. To orange zest, add butter, l Tbs.orange juice, cilantro,

Carrot ginger cake Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift first 6 ingredients into a large
bowl. Mix the next 4 ingredients separately in a bowl, and then add
them to the dry ingredients in the large bowl. Do not over mix. Stir
in the carrots and raisins. (Optional: 1 cu Halibut with swiss chard and ginger cream sauce Brush fish with oil. Mix ginger, shallots and garlic in heavy small
saucepan. Rub 1 teaspoon ginger mixture over each fish fillet. Add clam
juice and wine to remaining ginger mixture in saucepan. Boil mixture until
