All season green-up tonic I have long been a devotee of Jerry Baker (On The Garden LIne) and I use
his "All season Green-up Tonic" on my garden, both in the ground and potted
plants and my peppers seem to love it.
mix it all together and apply with a 20 gal hose- West texas red beans 1 lb Dried pinto beans
1 tb Garlic, sliced
2 tb Chili Powder (Red)
2 sm Red peppers
1 ts Salt
Remove dirt, rocks, insects, and etc. from the beans. Wash beans in
several changes of water. Place all ingredients in a pan and cover
wit Garlic-mustard butter Cooking Directions
In a small bowl, stir together ingredients until well mixed. Wrap in waxed paper to shape stick of butter. Chill while pork is cooking. When ready to serve, cut into fourths and top each pork mignon before serving.
Goes well with Bacon- Green chile stew Trim excess fat from lamb shoulder; cut lamb into 1-inch cubes.
Cook and stir lamb, onion and garlic in oil in 4-quart Dutch oven
until lamb is no longer pink; drain. Stir in broth, salt, juniper
berries and pepper. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Almond green onion sauce Place all ingredients except oil in blender. With motor running drizzle in oil. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Zippy green beans Place beans in a saucepan and cover with water; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 8 - 10 minutes or until crisp-tender. Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to paper towels. D Green bean crunch Mix soup, milk, soy sauce, green beans, salt, and pepper in a 2-quart
casserole dish. Stir in 1/2 can of the chow mein noodles. Bake at 350F
degrees for 25 minutes. Top casserole with remaining chow mein noodles and
bake 5 minutes longer.
Green-corn pudding 1>. Preheat oven to 350 deg.F. Combine all ingredients in the order
given except for the eggs. 2>. Separate the eggs, beating the yolks
and adding them to the mixture. 3>. Beat the egg whites until stiff
and fold them in last. 4>. Put Green beans almondine Cut green beans lenthwise in half (or buy french cut).
In skillet over medium heat, cook almonds until golden, stirring frequently. Remove almonds to plate.
Melt butter in skillet. Add green beans and salt until beans are lighhtly browned over medium he Sauteed mussels with garlic Scrub the mussels, discarding any damaged ones that do not close when tapped with a
knife. Put the mussels in a large pan with 1 cup of water and the slice of lemon.

until smooth. Place the puree in a piece of cheesecloth. Squeeze the

Melt the butter, add the flour. Mix and add the milk. Cook till creamy,
stirring constantly. Add green tomatoes to the cream. Mix thoroughly. Salt
to taste and serve.

yolks with the mustard, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and garlic to taste. Beat
in 1/4 cup vegetable oil, drop by drop. This will establish the emulsion.

beans and ham; cook over medium heat. Stir in approximately 1/4 cup
water or liquid from beans. Cook until heated through.

soup with a very sweet garlic flavor. It is well worth
the time it takes to peel the garlic but you must use
