Directions: 1. Thoroughly rinse and drain the fava beans.
2. In a large skillet heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and saute for a minute. Add fava beans, vegetable broth, ? teaspoon of paprika, ? teaspoon cumin, ? teaspoon of cayenne. Cook three to five minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are warmed. Begin to mash the beans by hand or with a masher. You are looking for a consistency that is not solid but thick enough to be scooped up using bread. If it seems too thick, thin with additional broth or water.
3. Mix remaining spices together and reserve.
4. To serve, place Bissara into a shallow soup bowl or dessrt plate with a high lip. Sprinkle ? of the mixed spices. Drizzle additional oil on top. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
5. Serve warm or hot.
This is my quick version of a recipe from International Vegetarian. Bissara is a Moroccan dip that is similar in its presentation (but not taste) to the more common hummus. Enjoy this with pita bread (fresh or toasted) or cut up vegetables. Traditionally, this is served with a generous drizzle of olive oil on top of the prepared spread both for flavor and to act as a preservative. Though I never do, you are free to so.

Preheat oven to 250F . Combine sugars, mixing well to integrate them
evenly. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and dry it in the oven for
about 1 hour. Transfer to a blender and process to a fine powder. Set
aside.
Assembly:
Preheat oven to Chicken and bean soup Put Chicken into large pot and cover with water; bring to boil and
simmer for 2 to 3 hours, until chicken is falling off bones. Remove
chicken pieces from pot. Allow remaining broth to cool. When cool
enough strain and skim fat. Return stock to Baked barley and bean casserole Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix all ingredients together. Let stand for 30
minutes. Turn into an oiled casserole dish and bake for 40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the bell pepper, onion, garlic, zucchini, and olive oil in a medium mixing bowl and toss until the vegetables are coated. Spread the Bean and rice burritos Place the beans in a saucepan and mash with a potato masher. Add the

Chili bean soup Rinse and wash beans. Soak using either slow soak or quick soak. For slow
soak, submerge beans in about 6 cups of cold water salted to taste and soak
6-8 hours or overnight, unrefrigerated. For quick soak, submerge beans in
about 6 to 8 cups White bean and pepper salad 1. Stir together lemon juice, olive oil, sugar, dillweed (or crushed fennel seed), pepper, and garlic in a medium mixing bowl.
2. Add beans, green or sweet red pepper, cucumber, and green onions. Toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.
Make Beef and bean chili Heat oil in a large heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat. Add beef, 1 teaspoon of the chili powder, and cumin; saute until browned, about 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer beef to a plate.

Bean & onion medley In a large pot, bring 2 quarts of water to a boil. Add the green beans and
onions. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, for 20 minutes or until
beans and onions are crisp-tender; drain and remove to a medium bwl. Stir
in remaining ingredient Cannellini bean hummus Bring about 5 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the basil and
parsley, pushing the herbs down into the water, and cook for 10 seconds.
Drain the herbs in a sieve, pressing on them lightly to extract excess
moisture, and place in the bowl Brown bean marinade for barbecued pork 1. Mash brown beans to a paste, mince garlic. Then combine in a saucepan with stock, salt, sugar and soy sauce. Slowly heat, stirring, but do not boil.

In a small mixing bowl, soften cheese with a spoon
2. Mix cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, thyme, chives and garlic powder.
3. Mash with a wooden spoon against side of bowl until well mixed.
4. Spread on crackers or serve in a crock with crackers on the Yellow split-pea puree Presoak peas, if necessary, according to package directions. Drain
well, if presoaked. In a large pot, add water or stock, whole onion,
carrot, turnip or parsnip, marjoram, thyme, and salt. Cook until peas
and vegetables are tender, about 1 1/2 Slivered bean curd and shrimp 1. Press bean curd (see "HOW-TO SECTION") and sliver. Soak dried shrimp.
2. Peel cucumber and cut in half lengthwise. Scoop out and discard seeds, then sliver. Place in bowl with bean curd and shrimp.
3. Combine vinegar, peanut oil, sesame oil a Greek cucumber spread 1. Combine cucumber and salt in large plastic colander in sink or over bowl.
2. Let stand at room temperature for 1 hour.
3. Push down cucumber, draining out as much liquid as possible.
4. Place in medium bowl.
5. Add yogurt cheese, garlic, and lemon pepp Weisse bohnensuppe (white bean soup) Cover beans with water in large pot or soup kettle and soak overnight.
Rinse beans well and return to pot with ham bone and 3 quarts of water.
Simmer, uncovered, for 2 hours. Add parsley, onions, garlic, celery and
tops, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncover Sweet garlic spread Cut garlic head in half crosswise. In a square 8 to 9 inch pan, smear oil
in a small area and set garlic halves, cut side down, on oiled section.
Bake at 375F degrees until garlic is soft when pressed and cut sides are
browned, about 40 minutes.

Mix and 1/4 cup of refried beans on each flour tortilla. Roll up tortilla.

microwave oven for 2 minutes or Chili ( black bean & sausage with soft tacos ) Brown sausage over medium heat in a large pan or skillet; stir
frequently and break up meat as it cooks; drain fat. Reduce heat to
low; add Chili Makin's; stir well to mix and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Meanwhile,, warm tortillas. Spoon 2-3 Tb Hot mushroom bacon spread Cook bacon crisp and crumble. Saute mushrooms, onion and garlic in 2
T of bacon fat until soft, (5 minutes). Stir until smooth. Add flour,
pepper and cream cheese; stir until smooth. Stir in Worcestershire
sauce, soy sauce and sour cream. Serve Liptў cheese spread (liptauer) 1. Sieve the cheese and mix it with softened butter and all the other ingredients until the spread is light red in colour and evenly mixed. Refrigerate.
