evaporated skim milk over very low heat or in the top part of a double
boiler placed over hot water. Raisin cookies In a pot, combine the sugar, water, raisins, shortening

salt. Stir
over a gentle heat until the sugar

shortening has melted. Raise
heat

bring to a boil, stirring continuously. Simmer for 1 minute.
Remove from heat

Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 350F. Line 2 baking sheets
with parchment paper. Stir butter, sugar, and corn syrup in heavy medium
saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Bring to boil over
medium-high heat, stirring c Skillet cookies #2 In a skillet, melt margarine, add dates, sugar, milk and egg yolks. Cook 10
minutes, stirring constantly, over low heat. Remove from heat; add vanilla
or lemon extract, Rice Krispies and pecans. Mix well and shape into balls.
