1/6 Ounce(s) salt
1/3 Ounce(s) vanilla extract

10 2/3 Ounce(s) melted shortening
1/3 Ounce(s) cinnamon

Directions: (Jason's note: you can use applesauce and plain fat-free yogurt as a subsitute for the oil). Mix sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl. Then add and stir together shortening (or oil), eggs and vanilla. Then add and combine apples and raisins. Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 1/2 hours as 325 degrees (her way) or 1 hour at 375 degrees (my way) till cake leaves sides of pan. The cake is moist and will keep for a long time if no one discovers it; if they do--it's a "flash in the pan."
