Recipes from all over the world

Ingredients:
2 sticks margarine
160/409 Pound(s) sugar
160/409 Pound(s) brown sugar
2 egg
1/6 Ounce(s) vanilla extract
1 71/86 Pound(s) flour
1/6 Ounce(s) salt
74/6789 Pound(s) baking soda
12 Package(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 Cup(s) chopped walnuts
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda and set aside. Cream the margarine, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add the vanilla and eggs and mix until just smooth. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix well. With the added amount of flour mixture and mix well. With the added amount of the flour in this recipe, the batter will be stiff. This stiffness is what keeps the cookie from going flat in the oven. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts (if desired) using a wooden spoon. Form into walnut sized balls and place onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes. Let cool for several minutes but remove while still warm onto a rack for cooling. (Do not fully cool on cookie sheet as they will continue to cook.) Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies. For best results use thick cookie sheets or two thin sheets placed together. Air insulate sheets work well also. Thin sheets brown the bottoms too much.
