Ingredients: 2 Tablespoon(s) Vegetable oil 1/2 Pound(s) Fresh, small tender okra 1/4 Cup(s) Water 1 Tablespoon(s) Strained fresh lime juice 1 small Garlic clove, finely minced 1/4 Teaspoon(s) Caribbean hot pepper sauce 1 Tablespoon(s) Chopped cilantro |
Directions: 1. In a medium saute pan, heat 1 tablespoon oil. Add okra and saute 2
minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add water, cover and cook
over low heat for about 7 minutes, or until just tender. (Add more
water if needed.) Transfer to a serving plate.
2. Combine remaining tablespoon oil, lime juice, garlic, allspice, hot
pepper sauce, salt and pepper. Pour over okra. Sprinkle with cilantro
and dried tomato.

used. As well, feta cheese or mozzarella cheese could be added. EGGPLANT &
PEPPERS: Peel, slice eggplants. Place in colander and salt lightly. Let
stand 1/2 hour. Prehe Easy fruit salad Mix bananas, apples, oranges, and fruit cocktail. Stir in marshmallows and
pecans. Pour yogurt of top of fruit and toss gently until well coated.
Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
Aloha sweet potato salad 1. Cut the bacon slices into 1/2-inch pieces and fry in a skillet
until well browned. Drain on paper towels.
2. Combine the bacon, sweet potatoes and pineapple in a large mixing
bowl and toss lightly. In a small bowl conbine the mayonnaise,

Cut tomatoes in half, remove seeds, dice finely and arrange over top of chopped greens. Chop bacon finely and sprinkle over the salad. Cut avocado in small pieces and arrange a Hamburger fischsalat (hamburg-style fish salad) Melt butter in a frypan. Place fish in frypan and pour hot water over fish. Bring to a boil, cover, lower heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Meanwhile slice the 4 hard cooked eggs and the pickles. Drain fish, cool and cut into cubes. Prepare sala Snicker salad Prepare the pudding using 1 cup of milk; blend together with whipped topping. Add the apples, candy bars and grapes. Mix together and refrigerate until chilled.
Waldorf salad dressing Place the yogurt in a small bowl. Add the whipped topping and gently fold in. Then gently fold in the lemon peel and nutmeg.
Jicama cheese salad Place jicama, cheese, and pimientos into a large bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine the lemon juice, olive oil, chili powder, onion, and oregano, and mix thoroughly. Pour this dressing over jicama mixture and toss well. Let stand 15 minutes b Garbanzo and rice salad 2 Combine all ingredients. Toss well and refrigerate overnight. Toss several times during refrigeration period and just before serving. Celery root salad Peel the celery root and cut it into 1/2-inch cubes. Add the cubed celery
root to the boiling salted water and cook until tender, about
15 minutes. Drain.
Combine the rest of the ingredients and whisk or shake to make a dressing.
Po Mexicali pasta salad Cook the pasta as directed on the package and drain. Rinse with cold water and drain again. Mix the pasta, tomatillos, chile and pineapple. Mix the reserved juice and the remaining ingredients. Pour
over the pasta mixture and toss. Cover and refrigerat Spinach feta salad Cook pasta

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and toss well.
