Directions: In 2qt pan, boil water. Add berries, return to boil. Reduce heat, simmer, covered, 1 hour. Stir in brown rice. Cover, simmer 50 minutes longer. 5 minutes before rice is finished, saute scallion until softened. Combine with rice and wheat mixture, along with spices.
Note: The original recipe called for 2 Tbs. pignoli (pine nuts), tosted in 1 Tbs butter, before adding the scallions. I simply eliminated them. I'll run both combinations through my recipe program, and re-post if it can be done <= 10% cff. The original recipe's 'Health Tip' suggested omitting salt, substituting unsalted margarine, and/or eliminating the nuts.

Rice, white Wild rice with toasted almonds and dried cherry This goes well with Duck.
Soak dried cherries in water, apple juice, brandy or any type of liquor for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Chop cherries and toasted almonds a bit.
Simmer wild rice with cherries for 45-60 minutes in lightly salted water, until Rice soup florentine Cook brown rice with a pinch of salt in 1-1/2 cups of boiling water for 10
minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a large saucepan, saute leeks, scallions, garlic, bouillon, remaining
salt and pepper in oil until vegetables are soft, abou Citrus rice Bring water, salt, and 2 tablespoons of the butter to a boil. Stir in
