Ingredients:
2 Cup(s) Lard
1 Cup(s) Sugar
1 Egg yolk
1 Teaspoon(s) Aniseed
6 Cup(s) Flour
1 Teaspoon(s) Salt
2 Tablespoon(s) Baking powder
1/2 Cup(s) Water
1/2 Cup(s) Sugar, for topping
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Ground cinnamon, for topping
Directions: Preheat oven to 350F degrees. In a large bowl, cream lard, 1 cup sugar, and egg yolk together until mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in aniseed. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder and stir into creamed mixture. Stir in just enough water to make mixture hold together. Knead until well mixed. On a floured board, roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into fancy shapes with cookie cutters. Mix together the 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon and sprinkle over each cookie. On an ungreased cookie sheet, bake for approximately 10 minutes, until nicely browned.
