Directions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cream the shortening and sugar. Mix in
the bananas. Mix in the remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased loaf
pan. Bake 1 hour 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
NOTES:
* This recipe is from my friend Ayalla -- It makes a heavy, but moist,
loaf of banana bread.
* If you use more than 3 normal-size bananas, I suggest that you lower the
oven temperature and cook for a while longer. Otherwise, the crust comes
out almost overcooked while the middle remains moist and almost
undercooked.

and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, 3 to 5 minutes longer. Let

Simmer until light syrup forms, then remove the clove and cinnamon. Cut 1

If you're in the pioneering spirit, here's a sourdough for you. Yes,
sourdough IS possible in a bread machine - for bakers with the time,
patience and adventursome spirit to see this most-independent bread to
completion. Hominy corn bread Combine hominy, shortening, eggs, and milk. Add corn-meal, salt, and
baking powder. Let stand 5 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon more of milk if
desirable. Pour into well-oiled pan and bake in hot oven (425 F) 35
minutes or until a rich golden brown. Mississippi corn bread Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Place bacon drippings or Crisco in
9-inch cast iron skillet. Heat skillet in oven until fat is smoking
hot, while preparing batter. (This should take no more than 5-10

Al forno's double chocolate bread Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter abd flour a 9 by 5 by 3 inch
pan and set aside. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking
soda and salt, set aside. Beat butter and sigar together until light and
fluffy. Add the eggs, one at Banana-date cake Mix nonfat milk and vinegar and let stand until thickened. Sift together
flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into mixing bowl. Stir to
blend. Lightly beat eggs and egg white. Add to flour mixture with bananas,
Pureed Dates, soured mi Ham-and-cheese bread NOTES: For Panasonic/National machines, use 3 tsp yeast for the 1 1/2 pound
loaf. This bread has a high liquid content, so the top may fall during
baking. Use a light crust setting. The crust will be somewhat darker than
