Directions: Preparation: Rinse chicken, remove fat pockets, pat dry, and chop into
bite-size pieces. NOTE: if tempted to use breast meat without bones,
please don`t; bones add to body and flavor of soup. Peel and slice ginger
root. Wash and cut asparagus into 2" sections.
Braising: Heat wok to medium hot. Add sesame oil. Start braising chicken
a few pieces at a time when oil begins to smell. Sesame oil will burn at
lower temperature than other cooking oils, so avoid hot wok. After browning
lightly, return chicken pieces to wok; add ginger slices, sherry and salt.
When sherry boils, add water and sugar. Turn up heat, bring to boil, then
reduce heat to simmer, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add mushrooms and
asparagus, simmer for another 15 minutes.
Transfer to covered soup tureen (or put plate on top of soup bowl), place
in steamer on low, and hold until ready to serve.
You can make this soup in large sauce pan, if wok is needed for something
else.

Ham bone-and-bean soup COVER THE BEANS WITH WATER and soak overnight, or place in a pan, cover,
and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and let sit 1 hour. Drain. Make a
stock of 1 cup of the ham scraps or ham bone and optional turkey carcass,
celery, carrot, bay leaf and water Breaded baked chicken Combine breadcrumbs, cheese, garlic salt, and pepper. Dip chicken in butter; then dredge in breadcrumb mixture. Place in a lightly greased 13x9x2" baking pan; sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Cream of broccoli soup Trim broccoli and cut into one-half inch thick slices. Steam in salted water until tender.
In large sauce pan, melt butter and saute onions, celery and garlic until brown.

Sift together the remaining ingredients – you can add ½ cup walnuts if desired.
Add dry ingredients to egg mixture.
Mix in 2 cups shredded raw Asparagus.

Tomato fennel soup Cut tops from fennel bulbs; reserve leafy tops. Coarsely chop 2 of the
bulbs. Melt 1 cup butter in a large pan over low heat. Add chopped
fennel, onion and 4 of the garlic cloves; cook until limp, about 15
minutes. Season with salt and pepp Chicken tamale pie Prepare muffin mix as directed on package, adding 1/2 cup of the cheese
with the mix. Set aside. (Do not bake.)
Cook and stir chicken, soup, chilies, scallions, garlic and chili powder in
a large saucepan until heated through.
Spoon muffin mixture into a Curried chicken and banana soup Cut the chicken into small pieces. Brown the chicken in the oil, then remove and drain. Add the onion and garlic and saute until soft. Add the chile and curry powder and saute for an additional 2 minutes.

lemon zest. Toss to mix. On a large flat plate, coat the chicken with the
seasoned bread crumbs. Spray Pam on a non-stick skillet and heat over

Chicken-and-fruit casserole SPRINKLE THE CHICKEN with salt. Grind the peppercorns, clove and
cinnamon together in a spice mill and mix with the sugar, sherry,
garlic, vinegar and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Spread 1/3 of the onion in
the bottom of the crockpot; cover with 1/3 each General tso's chicken 3 1.Skin and bone the chicken. Cut into 1-1/2" x 2" strips.
Mix batter. Add chicken, tossing lightly to coat. Cover and chill
for 1/2 hour. Mix seasoning sauce.
