Makes 1 cup.
This rub, adapted from Big Flavors of the Hot Sun (Morrow, 1994), is a
little sweet, a little hot, with just a hint of clove. It can be used on
just about anything that you plan to barbecue, that i Jerk seasoning: east-west indies Taco seasoning 1. Mix it all together.
2. Store in airtight container.
Sloppy joes w/homemade sloppy joe seasoning mix Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat. Drain excess grease.
Add sloppy joe seasoning mix, water and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on
toasted hamburger buns.
Spicy chicken seasoning Put cornmeal through small food processor or spice grinder. Put parsley, cajun, montreal,sage, and rosemary leaves through spice mill. Mix everything together, preferably sift once after mixing and there will probably be larger pieces which will need re Bourbon marinade (all-purpose) Mix all ingredients in a large glass or earthenware bowl until well
blended. Add meat to marinade. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight,
turning 4 times.

All purpose dry rub Mix all the spices together and store in an airtight container for up to 8
weeks. Great with ribs, brisket, and chicken.
Mexican seasoning mix Mix well. Use 3 T. mix and 1/2 cup water for each pound of meat used.
All-purpose potato-based gravy (Optional: Any combination of stuff like poppy seeds, celery seeds, toasted
sesame seeds, Lawry's Seasoned Salt) Microwave the potato(s) for about 8
minutes more or less, depending on your potato(s) and your microwave. Then,
put them in a ble Barbecue sauce - all purpose 1. In a non-aluminum saucepan melt butter for mushrooms, add mushrooms and
cook until tender about 8-10 minutes, they should not be completely cooked.

garlic All purpose marinade Mix all ingredients together. Marinate the meat (beef, pork, chicken, or
game) for 3 to 6 hours, then use the marinade as a basting sauce as the

All-purpose punch Reconstitute the orange juice in the punch bowl, add the pineapple juice
and soda pop. Add an ice ring. Makes about 5 qts (l) per batch. If you want
a more orangey-red color the new raspberry ginger ale flavor (pink) also
