Ice-water pickles Wash the cucumbers, quarter them lengthwise, and soak them in ice-water
for 2 hours. Peel and slice the onions and pack them in the bottoms of 5
pint jars. Pack the cucumbers lengthwise in the jars. Combine the
mustard seed, vinegar, sugar and salt, br Alice's pickles Boil for 3 minutes 2 tablespoons celery seeds, 1 to 1 1/2 cups white
vinegar and 1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar and cool. Soak in 2 tablespoons salt for
1 hour cucumbers, then drain. Mix boiled mixture and all vegetables in
large jar and refrigerate.
10 hour cresents Combine yeast in warm water and dissolve. Add sugar, eggs, salt and butter, stir well. Add flour one cup at a time.

Procedure: Wash cucumbers. Cut 1/16-inch slice off blossom end and discard,
but leave 1/4-inch of stem attached. Place whole cucumbers in suitable
1-gallon container. Add 1/ Happy hour mushrooms Remove and discard stems from mushrooms. Melt 1/4 cup of the margarine; brush over
mushroom caps, coating thoroughly. In a medium-size bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup butter,

let them stand, covered with a weighted lid, for 3 hours. Kosher pickles Combine salt and boiling water in a large bowl. Stir to dissolve the salt.
Add a handful of ice cubes to cool it down. Then add all the remaining
ingredients.
Add cold water to cover. Use a plate slightly smaller than the diameter of
the b 12-hour crocked chili Stir meat and tomato paste together in crockery cooker. Stir in other
ingredients (add no water or other liquid). Turn cooker to low heat; cover
and cook for 12 hours. Skim, and discard any fat from the surface. Makes

Curry pickles Put the cucumbers in a bowl, add the salt and water, and let stand for 5
hours. Drain and rinse the cucumbers well. Combine the remaining
ingredients and bring to a boil. Add the cucumbers and heat just to the
boiling point. Pack into hot jars and sea Six-hour root beer Put ingredients in a gallon jug with about a quart of very warm water. Stir
until ingredients are well mixed. Finish filling the jug with warm water.
Let stand six hours (just laythe lid on top, do not screw on). At the end
of the six hours, screw "gone in a second" pickles Cut the cucmbers in half lengthwise, then slice diagonally into 1/2"-thick
slices and place in a large bowl. Mix salt with boiling water and pour over
the cucumbers and let stand 1 hour, then drain. Mix the remaining
ingredients and pour over 24-hour strawberry dessert Sprinkle strawberries with sugar and let stand 10 min. Fold marshmal- lows
and sour cream into strawberry mixture. Add salt and mix gently. Place in
a covered container and store in refrigerator overnight. To serve, spoon
into individual serv Chow-chow pickles Cover all vegetables except sweet pickles with water & salt. Let stand
overnight. In morning bring to a boil & boil for 2 minutes. Drain. Mix
vinegar, sugar, flour, dry mustard & turmeric. Bring to a boil & continue
to boil for 2 min 12 hour salad Cook first 3 ingreds. until thick. Add marshmallows. Melt. Remove from heat
and cool. Add last 3 ingreds. Cover and refrigerate till firm.
Zucchini pickles Cut zucchini into chunks. Slice onions. Soak zucchini and onions with salt in glass bowl covered with water for 2 hours. Drain well. Bring to a boil: vinegar, sugar, celery seed, turmeric and mustard seed. Add drained zucchini and onions, turn off h 24-hour dip Combine all in bowl and mix thoroughly. Regrigerate for 24 hours. Sprinkle with paprika and serve.
Diane's pickles Pack cucumbers in gallon jar with ingredients above and pour to the top
with vinegar. Cover and store at room temperature for 3 months.
After 3 months, pour off vinegar and slice cucumbers. Put cucumbers back
into gallon jar and mix 1 1/2 cup sugar 24-hour vegetable salad Place 2 cups of the lettuce in the bottom of a large bowl, sprinkle with
salt, pepper and sugar. Layer eggs atop lettuce in bowl; sprinkle with
more salt. Layer in order; peas, remaining lettuce, bacon and Swiss cheese.
Spread mayonnaise over 24 hour slaw Pour 3/4 cup sugar over cabbage and onion and toss.
Bring celery seeds and remaining ingredients to a boil. Pour over cabbage
and onions. Let sit for 24 hours before serving.
Refrigerator pickles Mix together sugar, vinegar, salt, alum, celery seed, mustard seed and turmeric in a gallon glass jar.
Add sliced onions.
Fill jar with pickle size or chunks of fresh cucumbers.
Cover jar and refrigerate for about 2 days; stirring once in awhile.
24-hour french bread In large bowl of electric mixer, dissolve yeast in 2-1/2 c water. Add
2-1/2 to 3 c flour; stir 1 minute. Batter will have consistency of soft
pudding.
Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place, free from
drafts, overnig 24-hour fruit salad Drain pineapple and dissolve orange juice in pineapple juice. Mix in juice instant pudding, sliced bananas, pears, apricots and peaches (in bite sizes.) Add drained oranges and pineapple. Mix and let stand for 24 hours in refrigerator.
Sweet pickles Day 1: Wash cucumbers and slice in half lengthwise. Put into large bowl. Dissolve pickling salt into 2 quarts of boiling water. Pour salt water of pickles. Place a weighted plate (or a gallon ziplock baggie with a couple cups of water in it) on top of 24 hour vegetable salad Place lettuce in bottom of a serving bowl, about 8" in diameter. Layer
mushrooms on top. Then layer peas and carrots. Arrange egg white slices and
bacon over vegetables. Top with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese; set aside. In a
mixing bowl, combine 24-hour lettuce salad Layer first 5 ingredients in a glass bowl in order of listing. Spread on
mayonnaise. Sprinkle on sugar or honey, then cheese, then bacon. Cover
with foil and refrigerate overnight. Toss lightly just before serving.
4-hour beef stew Mix all ingredients, except potatoes , and place in casserole. Cover top
with raw potatoes. Cover and bake at 250 F. for 4 hrs.
